Good work is good for health, but not all work is healthy.
Poor working conditions and exposures to harmful substances can have a negative impact on:
- the productivity of the organisation
- the health, morale and wellbeing of workers
- the local community
It therefore makes good business sense for employers to protect the health of their workforce.
The Introducing Health Risks at Work video is a 10-minute introduction to some of the risks faced by many workers.
The video can be shared with employees and managers and used in training sessions as a means of starting conversations about issues in your workplace.
Health risks can be managed, and ill health prevented, if you identify sources of harm and implement measures to manage them. Topics covered are risks to:
- breathing
- skin
- muscles, bones and joints
- hearing
- sense of touch (vibration)
- wellbeing
- blood born viruses
- driver health
- health surveillance
These pages and video links are designed to introduce you and your workers to common health risks.
